Mr. Powell
My language arts classroom exists to create a safe, healthy, and happy learning environment so that every student can be the best reader, writer, and learner possible.
To do this, students will be actively engaged in a variety of activities involving reading, writing, and grammar. Students will participate in these activities to improve their functional skills in each of these areas.
My main areas of focus are:
1. Implementing interactive lessons
2. Meeting the student where they are in their learning, not where they should be
3. Keeping the Common Core Standards as goals
4. Providing project-based instruction
